Gloucestershire Carers Hub - Parent Carer sessions

Gloucestershire Carers Hub are pleased to announce that we will be running specific Parent Carer sessions this autumn.

We welcome Parent Carers to join us to explore the topics below:

Monday 2nd October 2023, 12.00noon – 1.00pm

Supporting an Adult with Autism Lunch Support Group

Join other Carers supporting teenagers from aged 18 years onwards through and including adulthood that have Autism. This is an opportunity to make new connections, receive peer support and obtain advice from experienced professionals from the Independence Trust.

Join whilst having your lunch, you can sit and just listen in or actively talk to others.

Monday 9th October 2023, 1.00pm - 2.00pm

Parent Carer information session with Care Advice Line. Managing Trusts, Wills & Estate Protection

Join the The Care Advice Line to develop a better understanding of how to manage someone's trust and financial estate as a Parent Carer. Opportunity to ask questions.

Tuesday 14th November 2023, 7.30pm – 8.30pm

Supporting a child with additional needs - managing periods/ hygiene

Join Inclusive Change to gain information and advice about how to support a child with additional needs to feel more comfortable with periods and managing self-hygiene as they develop.

Wednesday 22nd November 2023, 10.30am – 11.30am

Parent Carer Benefits Overview Session

Citizen’s Advice Cotswold and District will be joining us to cover a general overview of the benefits available to Carers and those that they care for.  This will include Carers Allowance and the Carers Addition to Universal Credit and the disability benefits that you need to claim to be able to make a Carers Allowance/Addition claim.  They  will be happy to answer any questions, or if you would like to submit these privately, they will get back to you separately.  They cover Stroud and Cotswold District, if you live outside of these areas they can provide general information but if you need further advice, they will refer you to your nearest Citizens Advice.
