Gloucestershire Dynamic Support Register

Published
The Dynamic Support Register (DSR) is a register to support pathways for people with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or Autism to provide appropriate support and care, at the right time, so that they can lead the lives they want and can stay safely and healthily within the community.

The Gloucestershire Dynamic Support Register is for anyone who has a diagnosis of a learning disability and/or autism who are at risk of going to hospital due to;

  • behaviour that others may find challenging and/or
  • complex mental health difficulties.

Being on the register helps all agencies work together and talk to each to make sure the right help is being offered at the right time.

If a child, young person, or adult are finding things difficult, people will work with them to understand what is happening and to plan the best ways to help.

  • They will be treated with the same dignity and respect as everybody else.
  • They will be supported to live within their community.
  • They can develop and maintain relationships with the people that are important to them.
  • They are supported to stay living in the community and out of hospital wherever this is possible.

For a child or young person to be added to the Dynamic Support Register in Gloucestershire, the young person or parent/guardian would need to sign a consent form, which is then reviewed each year.

If you feel the Dynamic Support Register is not something you wish to consider at this time, this will not affect the current support offered to the young person and their family.

The needs of young people can change quickly, so this register is intended to aid early identification of increased risk and help agencies to proactively support them in the community.
