Carers Rights Day 2025 – Caring for Your Future

Carers Rights Day is a national campaign led by Carers UK, dedicated to raising awareness of the rights of unpaid Carers and ensuring they have access to the support and information they need.

This year, it takes place on Thursday, 20 November 2025, with the theme “Caring for Your Future.” The focus is on empowering Carers to plan ahead, whether that’s understanding financial entitlements, accessing support services, or making decisions about work, education, and personal wellbeing.

It’s also a time to bring together professionals, organisations, and communities to recognise the vital role Carers play and to advocate for better support.

NHS Bus tour – Supporting Carers across Gloucestershire

In the lead-up to Carers Rights Day, the NHS Bus will be touring Gloucestershire, offering Carers the chance to drop in, speak with professionals, and access information and support. The bus will be visiting:

  • Monday, 3 November – Tewkesbury Morrisons
  • Friday, 7 November – Coleford Clocktower
  • Friday, 14 November – Cheltenham Tesco
  • Tuesday, 18 November – Gloucester Cross
  • Thursday, 20 November – Cirencester Livestock Market

These sessions are open to all and provide a valuable opportunity for Carers to ask questions, collect resources, and find out more about local services available to them.

Carers Rights Day Event – Dowty’s Sports and Social Club

To mark the day, a special event will be held at Dowty’s Sports and Social Club, bringing together organisations from across the county.

Carers attending can:

  • Meet local service providers and support organisations – The Care Advice Line, Healthwatch Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire Parent Carer Forum will be attending the event.
  • Access practical advice and resources
  • Connect with other Carers in a welcoming environment

The information event will be running from 10.00am – 2.00pm.

Co-production activity workshop – shaping hospital experiences

As part of the event, Carers are invited to take part in a co-production workshop focused on improving hospital experiences for Carers and those they support. This session builds on a series of collaborative discussions held throughout the year.

Together, we’ll reflect on what we’ve learned, shape practical proposals, and move towards wrapping up this collaborative journey with concrete recommendations.

A free lunch will be provided for all attendees.
Booking is essential, and Carers are asked to share any dietary requirements when registering.

Please see the Families in Partnership article on more co-production from the Carers Hub.
