Video introducing Kelly Routledge, the Deputy Team Manager within the Disabled Children’s Front Door Team
About about our team
Our team of five is made up by one Social Worker, three Disabled Children’s Team Early Help Practitioners and me, as Deputy Team Manager.
My role has three key elements:
1. To provide social care advice to inform children’s Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment. Ensuring this advice is submitted in a timely way and include good quality information about children’s needs.
2. To complete initial screenings for the Disabled Children’s Early Help Team to explore a child’s needs and identify the right plan of support.
3. To speak to families and gather information to identify the right plan of support for a child, when a referral is received for a child with a disability.
Other times you may see or speak to our team
Our team is able to provide signposting to services and organisations such as Gloucestershire Parent Carer Forum, the SEND Local Offer and SENDIASS.
This means you may see at community events or coffee mornings for example, in an effort to provide community-based support and signposting.
We will also be working alongside our multi-agency partners, building bridges and positive working relationships with other services to benefit children and their families.
We also understand that Children’s Social Care can at times feel a daunting and confusing service for families. Which is why focus for me in this role is to work hard to help de-mystify our service and help to build understanding of what we do and how we can help and support. I hope this will provide reassurance to families.
