This walk-through video demystifies the Paediatric Assessment Unit. It can also be found on the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust YouTube channel and linked on the Health category on the local offer, Support for Families with SEND.

The Young Influencers at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHT) aim to make a difference and act as a voice for young people to help make GHT services more accessible. They provide necessary feedback to services and share their opinions on services available at Gloucestershire Hospitals.

Aged 14-22 years old, the Young Influencers are carers, patients or ex-patients so they have personal knowledge that helps them in their role as Young Influencers.

Sometimes, going to the hospital can be scary. You may not know what to expect or find that the unfamiliarity is uncomfortable. The Young Influencers have created walk-through videos, explaining different areas of the hospitals. The videos are easy-to-understand and detail what to expect, covering aspects like signing in at reception and what ‘observations’ are.

Rather than just saying what will happen, the Young Influencers and hospital staff act out what will happen, with a commentary. This means if you struggle with wordy descriptions or learn visually, then their videos will be great for you!

The Young Influencers care about young people under NHS care and want to shape the future of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. To find out more about them, visit their website: Young Influencers.
