Forwards Education Team – things didn’t work out with my child’s grades. What now?

Published
Sarah and Mark from the Forwards Education team, go through some options for young people where things didn’t work out with their grades at school, providing some information on Alternative Post 16 options for Traineeships and Level 1 qualifications.

Prospects Training in Gloucester are back offering Traineeships from this October 2023.

Traineeships offer an alternative pathway for young people who have not attained grade 4 Maths and English to move onto an apprenticeship. They offer the opportunity to gain vital work experience and the opportunity to gain your level 2 functional skills Maths and English.

Within your Traineeship if you are not sure which career path to take, you can explore sectors with work experience that is sourced by their dedicated employment coaches. You will be fully supported in your work experience with your allocated work coach and tutor who will match employment opportunities to your aspirations.

Prospects Training are hosting an open day every Friday in September

Cedars Training in Gloucestershire are offering Hair and Beauty Traineeships at a level 1. This is a great stepping stone to moving onto a level 2 apprenticeship. Within the Traineeship you will be required to complete your functional skills level 2 in Maths and English alongside gaining valuable work experience at a Salon.

Hitz Academy – Gloucestershire Rugby Club

Hitz are offering a level 1 sports coaching course this academic year held within the grounds of Gloucester Rugby Club. This is not specifically a rugby course and if you have an interest in other sports, they will tailor the course to your area of passion.

In the level 1 sports coaching qualification, functional skills Maths and English is embedded into the course. Hitz will accept new intakes to the course until April 2024.
