Section 11 - HAF Programme 2023/24
Plans for your 2023/24 HAF programme
Our aim is to continually improve our HAF programme in Gloucestershire by listening to our children, and young people and families, our providers, and partners to make sure that what is on offer is of high quality and providing activities and food that they will enjoy.
We undertake an evaluation with children and families after each HAF holiday and use this and feedback from providers and our District Lead Organisations to review what is working well and making changes to areas that are not working as well.
Each year we develop a plan with priority areas for us to focus on and for 2023 – 2024 our priorities are
- Increasing the overall number of secondary school age children attending HAF provision to be 25% of those attending the programme
- Ensure HAF provision for older children with a special educational need and/or disability.
- Track the uptake of vouchers for SEND children not able to access HAF food
- Analyse those children with: an ECHP, Disabilities, and children and young people with a BAME background; attending by geography to ensure our diverse communities across the county are accessing the provision.
- Continue to embed good safeguarding practice.
- Improve provider signposting and referrals.
- Continue to improve food and nutrition good practice with providers across the county.
- Roll out the second phase of the All about Me, all about us pilot including work to incorporate this into the booking system
- Ensure there is a wide range of activities with good availability for families to book at each HAF holiday.
- Increase the number of parents and carers responding to the HAF survey.
- Continually improve the functionality and user-experience of the CABS booking system.
- Increase the number of referrals from partners including Social Care colleagues to the HAF Community Connectors’ Service
- Continue to ensure that all provider’s monitoring reports are received within the set deadlines
