Read the ‘You Said, We Did’ Local Offer Annual Reports

The annual reports of activities to support development of Gloucestershire’s SEND Local Offer of services and information for families are available now. Thanks to your engagement and feedback a lot has been achieved this year. The Local Area Partnership is keen to share this progress with our communities and families in advance of our next round of annual surveys from October to December.

The last year has been a busy and productive time for our SEND Local Offer.  Thanks to a 60% increase in completed surveys sharing views from Parent Carers on SEND and Inclusion services across Gloucestershire, the Local Area Partnership has used this feedback to shape and improve services in response to what families have said is most important to them.

For example:

‘You said’ there are long waiting lists for mental health, neurodevelopmental, and educational support.

‘We did’: Information on the Local Offer website has been improved to make it easier for families to understand neurodevelopmental assessment processes and the support that is available while on waiting lists Glosfamilies Directory | Autism, ADHD & Neurodivergence Support

  • Mental Health Support Teams, locally know as Young Minds Matter or YMM, support over 70% of schools in the county, providing low intensity CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) support to children between the ages of 5 and 18. Four more teams are due to start to cover every school in the county, intended start dates September 26, January 27, September 27 and January 28.
  • Every school has access to Educational Psychologist time providing support to schools.  
  • We have grown our numbers of Assistant Educational Psychologists providing more time supporting schools as well as supporting Assistant Psychologists to move onto training courses to be our qualified Educational Psychologists of the future.

How families help to shape the Local Offer throughout the year

2026 has also seen an increase in engagement activities to gather views to improve the Local Offer website information regarding Education Support and the Graduated Pathway, Health and Care.  These activities are an important part of our ongoing quality assurance process to make sure families get the most up to date and easy to follow information to help navigate the SEND and Inclusion system.

Annual Parent Carer Survey 2026

This year’s survey will be launched on Monday, 5 October and will run until Friday, 4 December at 5pm.  A link to the survey will be published in October’s issue of the Families in Partnership newsletter.

We want to reach many more families with experience of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) across the 0-25 age range.

What we do with completed surveys

All completed surveys are analysed and the data used to compare to our baseline data from last year.  These data, together with feedback comments, are used to identify themes to inform our improvement work across the Local Area Partnership.  Updates on our improvement work will be featured in articles within the Families in Partnership newsletters and in next year's You Said, We Did' annual report.
