Introduction

Earlier this year, we invited a team from the Local Government Association to complete a Peer Review of SEND services in Gloucestershire. This means that our peers from other local authorities and health services outside Gloucestershire spent time reviewing our SEND services.

Following the review which took place in June, the LGA provided us with their feedback at the start of the summer. Although we know our service well in Gloucestershire with an improvement plan already in place, the report offered us a fresh perspective on what the local partnership is doing well, together with the things it can improve on. Here is a summary of what the SEND Peer Review told us, what actions we have completed already, and our next steps.
