Gloucestershire County Council’s Asset Management and Property Services (AMPS) have claimed national recognition at the Constructing Excellence Awards.

The service was named Client of the Year at the national awards ceremony, held at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square on Friday, 18 November.

The national prize came after AMPS had already been named as the South West regional Client of the Year.

AMPS works with contractors to procure and deliver major projects for the council. This has seen the delivery of 175 projects, valued at over £270 million, in the last 15 years – and £40 million in the last 18 months. All of these projects were delivered on time and on budget, to the highest standard.

These projects have included community buildings, such as Gloucester’s Quayside Health Centre and Leckhampton High School in Cheltenham.

The service was recognised by the judges for responsible procurement, delivering social value, and delivering greener and better quality projects.

It was also praised for concentrating on procuring local people for local jobs in the county.

Cllr Lynden Stowe, Deputy Leader of Gloucestershire County Council and Cabinet member responsible for finance and change, said: “I am delighted that AMPS have been recognised at the Constructing Excellence awards as the national Client of the Year.

“This award is testament to the hard work our staff put it to deliver the best possible service for the county.”
