Come along to our careers open day
The Careers Open Day will showcase the huge variety of opportunities available across Adults’ and Children’s Social Care.
The event will take place from 10am until 6pm at the Guildhall (23 Eastgate Street, GL1 1NS) and it’s a great opportunity to learn more about the roles and training opportunities available.
Colleagues from across the county council will be on hand to chat to jobseekers about the difference they make every day, helping to support local people of all ages with care and support needs.
There will be representatives from several teams who are keen to share what their team does and how you could become part of it, including:
- Learning Disability and Enablement
- Hospital Discharge and Assessment Team
- Safeguarding and Practice Development
- Day Centres
- Contact Centre
- Home First and Reablement
- Apprenticeships and Adult Education
- Proud to Care and Children’s Social Work.
The county council’s corporate recruitment team will also be available to talk about career opportunities across the wider organisation. Benefits for colleagues include paid holiday, flexible working and membership of the local government pension scheme.
As well as learning about job roles and vacancies, job seekers will also be supported with application tips and advice.
There is no need to book, people can turn up on the day. Refreshments will be provided and parking options nearby include Eastgate Centre Rooftop Parking, St Michaels Square Car Park and Hampden Way Short Stay Car Park.
Cllr Kathy Williams, cabinet member for adult social care at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “We want to share why we care and inspire others to make a difference too.
“There are rewarding, varied and interesting roles available. Please encourage anyone you know who is looking for a new job or a fresh challenge to come along.”
