Celebrating Pride month at Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service

Published
This year, as with previous years, Gloucester Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) has been supporting Pride month.

Here’s a round up of how they’ve been celebrating this year:

• Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Nathaniel Hooton and other senior leaders joined members of Prism and their allies on the steps of Shire Hall, where rainbow colours were displayed, to show their support for Pride.
• Members of GFRS attended Cirencester and Stroud Pride and will continue to attend all Pride events across the county this year, as they also did in 2022.
• Members of the management team wore Pride epaulettes to show their support.

Earlier this year GFRS received a ‘Friend of Pride’ award. The Friend of Pride award was presented at Cheltenham Pride in the town’s Imperial Gardens. Chairperson for Pride in Gloucestershire, Richard Stevens, presented the award to Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s Area Manager, Adam Openshaw. Chief Fire Officer, Mark Preece, was also in attendance at the event.

Fire service teams will be in attendance at the following Pride events later this year:

• Cinderford on Sunday 16 July
• Tewkesbury on Sunday 6 August
• Gloucester on Saturday 9 September
• Dursley on Saturday 23 September
