Improvement works on A40 near Northleach
The road surface will be improved near the Cotswolds town and will mean overnight closures of the road.
The resurfacing will start on Tuesday 25 July and finish on Tuesday 8 August. Closures will be in place between the hours of 8pm and 7am. The road will not be closed on weekends and Bank Holidays.
Drivers will need to proceed with caution outside of the work hours as there will be a temporary surface.
For safety reasons there will be no vehicle access through the work site with the exception of the emergency services.
A 1.5-mile stretch of the A40 between the A429 roundabout and the junction for Windrush will be resurfaced.
The improvement work will see over 2,300 tonnes of binder & surface course laid on the A40.
A diversion route will be in place via the A424 and A429.
The resurfacing work is part of the council’s commitment to invest a further £100 million into county’s roads.
Cllr Dom Morris, cabinet member responsible for highways at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “As part of our further £100 million investment into highways, we are continuing to invest in our local roads to ensure we keep our county moving.
“This resurfacing project will help to improve the quality of an important route through the Cotswolds.
“I would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience while we undertake this work to improve the road.”
