Improvement works on Princess Elizabeth Way in Cheltenham
The road surface will be improved in the town and will mean overnight closures of the road.
The resurfacing will start on Thursday 27 July and the road will be closed that night, in addition to the nights of Friday 28 July and Monday 31 July. Closures will be in place between the hours of 7pm and 7am. The road will not be closed on weekends and Bank Holidays.
Drivers will need to proceed with caution outside of the work hours as there will be a temporary surface.
For safety reasons there will be no vehicle access through the work site, with the exception of the emergency services.
A 130-metre stretch of the A4013 from the A40 Gloucester Road roundabout to Coronation Square will be resurfaced.
The improvement work will see 400 tonnes of binder and surface course laid on Princess Elizabeth Way.
A diversion route will be in place.
The resurfacing work is part of the council’s commitment to invest a further £100 million into county’s roads.
Cllr Dom Morris, cabinet member responsible for highways at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “We are committed to making improvements like this as part of our further £100 million investment in the county’s highways network.
“This resurfacing project will help to improve the quality of an important route in Cheltenham.
“I would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience while we undertake this work to improve the road.”
