Badgeworth Road bridge re-opened in time for Christmas
Earlier this year the Network Rail bridge on Badgeworth Road (near Badgeworth Lane) was closed following an inspection that found the bridge approach embankments were beginning to fail and sections of the road had subsided. For safety reasons a full road closure was put in place.
Network Rail carried out work to stabilise the embankments with piling pictured below. They also oversaw the resurfacing of the road. During the road closure, further details and work updates were provided on the county council website: Network Rail bridge – Badgeworth Road/Lane – road closure | Highways
Gloucestershire County Council Director of Transport and Highways Jason Humm said: "We are very pleased to re-open Badgeworth Road bridge in time for Christmas. Network Rail have carried out extensive work to stabilise the embankments and make the road safe for use again. This was a challenging job and we thank local residents for their patience during the works."
