Update: A436 has been reopened

The A436 has now been reopened after around 70 trees came down during Storm Darragh earlier this month.
It was closed between Notgrove and the A429 at Whiteshoots Hill since the private trees were brought down by the storm on the weekend of 7-8 December.
Gloucestershire County Council has been working hard alongside its contractor to clear the debris and open the road as quickly as possible.
Following a safety check and in discussion with the landowner, it was discovered that around 40 other trees alongside the road needed to be felled to ensure the safety of road users and residents, which meant that the road needed to be closed longer than anticipated.
The road was reopened at 3.30pm on Monday 23 December.
The county council would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding while the road has been closed.
