Updates to the Cheltenham All Saints parking review programme

Published
In May 2024, Gloucestershire County Council confirmed the start of the review of Cheltenham All Saints (zone 15) parking scheme.

Since then, the county council’s independent consultants, Project Centre have been reviewing feedback and undertaking on-site parking surveys. This is to better understand parking usage in the area and how the zone 15 parking controls are working.

The aim is now to work towards reviewing elements of the scheme to ensure parking controls are appropriate for the needs and uses of the local community.

To help with this there will be two community drop-in sessions to gather ideas and thoughts on how the scheme is working in the area.

From this feedback and the Project Centre team observations, concept designs for an updated scheme will be developed. These designs will then be shared with the public asking for further feedback on the proposals.

Public engagement

Following the idea-gathering events, the county council will launch an online survey. During this period members of the public will be able to respond to concept designs that have been developed in response to outcomes from the review to date.

Next steps

Following the engagement period, all feedback will be reviewed and used to create a design scheme. These designs will then be subject to a formal TRO (traffic regulation order) statutory consultation process.

The county council will be looking to implement any changes and improvements beginning either later this year or early 2025.
