Call for carers to share their views - National Survey 2025
The survey, organised by the Department of Health and Social Care, has been running every two years since 2012. It plays a vital role in helping both local councils and national bodies understand what support carers need and how well current services are working.
According to the 2021 Census, there are now more than 52,000 unpaid carers in Gloucestershire, supporting family members or friends due to age, illness, disability, or other challenges. The council and NHS jointly fund a range of services to support carers, and this survey helps assess how effective those services are.
Councillor Kate Usmar, Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Independence, said:
“Carers across Gloucestershire do an incredible job, often without recognition. Their support makes a huge difference to the people they care for.
“We want to thank carers, and to listen to them. This survey is a chance for you to tell us what’s working and what could be better, so we can make sure the right support is in place when it’s needed most.”
Carers who have received a survey are encouraged to complete and return it by 31 December 2025.
For those who haven’t received a survey, the Gloucestershire Carers Hub will be holding online sessions via Zoom for carers to provide feedback on 24 November (12-1pm) and 26 November (4.30-5.30pm). To register, email bookings@peopleplus.co.uk using ‘Commissioner Survey’ in the subject line.
