There’s still time to have your say and help shape SEND services

There’s still time for parent carers of children and young people aged 0–25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to complete the Annual Parent Carer Survey.
The annual parent carer survey is open now - Help shape services for children and young people with SEND

Parent carer voice really does matter and every response helps shape the future of SEND services in Gloucestershire. The survey is open until Friday 5 December 2025, and we are asking families to take a few minutes to share their experiences and ideas.

This is a vital opportunity for families to help improve services across education, health, social care, and early help. Insights from the survey will guide the Local Area Partnership in shaping future services and making meaningful improvements that reflect what families truly need.

Feedback from families makes a real difference. Last year, parents and carers told us what mattered most – and we listened. Changes made because of their input include:

  • Better communication: The Families in Partnership newsletter now goes out every month, keeping families up to date with news and support.
  • SEND-friendly calendar: A dedicated calendar now highlights specialist events and opportunities across the county making it easier for families to find what they need.

Families can read more about the impact of last year’s survey in our You Said, We Did’ report on the Glos Families Directory.

The Parent Carer Survey will close on Friday 5 December 2025. Families can take part online now by visiting: www.glosfamiliesdirectory.org.uk

Share your thoughts today and help create a more supportive, inclusive Gloucestershire for all children and young people with SEND.

Cllr Linda Cohen, cabinet member for education and skills at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “We’re working together with families, local groups, and professionals to build services that meet the needs of children and young people with SEND.

“I’d encourage all parents carers to complete the Annual Parent Carer Survey. By sharing your views, you’ll be helping us to create a more supportive, inclusive Gloucestershire for all children and young people.”
