Supporting and developing our workforce
We know staff experience and people’s experience are closely linked. Over the past year, we have strengthened wellbeing support, supervision and development, using data to understand where pressure is greatest and provide support where it is most needed. This has helped reduce sickness absence and keep a stronger focus on stress and work-related health.
We support staff at every stage of their career, from induction onwards. New starters are helped to settle in through shadowing, a buddy and face-to-face support. Staff also have access to regular training and development opportunities, including apprenticeships, qualifications and continuing professional development, helping them build confidence, skills and experience throughout their career.
We are also investing in the workforce of the future. Through apprenticeships, early career programmes and our T-Level placements, we are helping more people discover Adult Social Care as a rewarding career and gain real experience in our services.

I’ve loved being a part of such a supportive group of fellow ASYE colleagues. I will take the learning from this programme with me throughout my career.
