Intimate personal relationships and sexuality - adults with learning disabilities
Adults with a learning disability have the same rights as anyone else to have safe and healthy relationships. They have the right to learn about their bodies and to learn about staying safe. This joint policy with the 2gether Trust seeks to ensure a consistent approach towards relationships and sexuality across and within agencies.
The following new sections have been added to the policy:
- Consent and decision making
- Working with families and carers
- Sterilisation or termination of pregnancy
- Sexual health and screening
- Dealing with false allegations
- Marriage, living together and divorce
- Contraception
