Who can get a Blue Badge
You can apply for a Blue Badge if you have a disability or health condition that makes walking difficult. You can also apply if you care for a child with a disability or health condition that affects their mobility.
To get a Blue Badge, you must meet at least one of the eligibility criteria published on the Government website and provide supporting evidence when you apply.
Blue Badges for organisations
Organisations that care for and transport disabled people who would individually meet the eligibility criteria can apply for a Blue Badge. You can apply online using the Government website.
To qualify, organisations must show there is a genuine need to have an organisational badge rather than using the individual badges of the people they transport. Examples of organisations that may be eligible include residential care homes, hospices, and local council social services.
Organisations unlikely to qualify are taxi or private hire operators and community transport operators. (These operators can still use an individual’s Blue Badge when carrying that person as a passenger.)
