What did we say in the last MPS?

The last Gloucestershire MPS focused on six areas of market activity:

  • Supporting independence
  • Appropriate housing
  • Community support
  • Rehabilitation, recovery and re-ablement
  • Flexible long-term support
  • Sustainable long-term services

We also considered how we can work better with the market to deliver in each of these areas: Working in Partnership.

We have used these seven topics to structure the part of this MPS which considers market strategies and operational changes, and the progress and challenges are outlined in each section.

Provider engagement for the MPS reflects many of the same concerns and issues identified by commissioners and other system partners:

  1. Workforce
  2. Cross-sector collaboration and engagement
  3. Training
  4. Increasing complexities
  5. Mental health service users
  6. Funding and rates
  7. Diversification of roles and services
  8. Estate and housing
  9. Telecare/digital
  10. Out of county placements

Engagement responses on these topics are woven into the market strategies and operational changes where appropriate but are also addressed in an additional section: what we heard from providers for ease of reference
