Online financial assessment is making it easier to complete

The introduction of the online financial assessment has had several notable impacts.

How we're making the difference that matters:

  • Accessibility and Convenience: Residents can now complete financial assessments without a visit at a time to suit them, making the process more accessible and empowering for individuals.
  • Efficiency: The online system streamlines the submission and processing of financial information, reducing the administrative burden on both the council and residents.
  • Support and Guidance: The council provides detailed guidance and support for completing the online assessment, ensuring that residents can accurately and confidently submit their information.
  • Transparency: The online tool helps residents understand how much they might need to contribute towards their care and support, promoting transparency in financial planning.

Overall, the online financial assessment tool aims to make the process of determining care costs more straightforward and user-friendly for Gloucestershire residents.

Online Financial Assessment

Case study

An individual required an urgent financial assessment due to delays around which local authority was going to provide funding for support.

After initial referral to the FAB team on 11 February 2025, contact was made immediately with a link to the portal and guidance on completion.

The individual was able to input their information and upload the relevant evidence the following day and the assessment was completed the same day.

The team received a compliment for prioritising the assessment and for a swift outcome.

"Thank you very much for prioritising this and for confirming the outcome."

This was a positive outcome rather than needing to wait several weeks for an in-person visit.
