PABBS (Postvention Assisting Those Bereaved by Suicide) is a one-day, face-to-face training course designed to help professionals respond confidently and compassionately to people affected by suicide bereavement. Delivered by two specialist trainers with lived experience and expertise in suicide prevention, the course provides practical guidance, evidence-informed learning, and space for reflection and discussion.
Course Objectives
- Understand why supporting people bereaved by suicide is an important part of suicide prevention.
- Build knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to support people bereaved by suicide.
- Develop a framework and service response plan for immediate and ongoing support.
- Recognise the importance of helping bereaved people stay connected with health professionals and services.
- Reflect on your own emotional wellbeing and identify strategies for self-care and support.
