Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Local Partnership Board (DA LPB)

The Domestic Abuse Local Partnership Board (DA LPB) was introduced following the commencement of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 which required Gloucestershire County Council to set up a multi-agency group with representatives from the other local authorities (the district councils), victims and their children, domestic abuse charities or voluntary organisations, health care providers and the police or other criminal justice agencies in the county.

The Gloucestershire LPB is accountable to Safer Gloucestershire and is made up of the following groups, each with its own set of aims and objectives to drive forward the Gloucestershire approach and response to tackling domestic abuse:

  • Strategic Group - provides oversight and accountability to ensure duties under the Domestic Abuse Act are completed, including production and publication of the Gloucestershire Tackling Domestic Abuse Strategy and implementation of recommendations from Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews.
  • Operational Group - leads on the development and implementation of a Gloucestershire Tackling Domestic Abuse Strategy through the dynamic delivery plan, and ensures the voice of victims/survivors is reflected in local activity.
    • Operational Sub-Groups – themed areas (e.g. housing, children & young people etc.) lead on the delivery of actions identified through the delivery plan, reporting into the LPB.
  • Consultation Network - gathers the voice of victims/survivors and their children, ensuring they are considered throughout the work of the partnership. You can access the Consultation Area by clicking here.

A domestic abuse and VAWG (Violence Against Women And Girls) team leads on the work to ensure the DA LPB delivers on its strategic objectives and long-term ambition for Gloucestershire to be a county free from domestic abuse, where adults and children are no longer at risk of harm.  This team includes colleagues from Gloucestershire County Council Public Health, Gloucestershire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Gloucestershire Constabulary. This collaborative work ensures a joined-up approach to our work in tackling domestic abuse and VAWG, and the specialist services commissioned to provide support and interventions to those affected.

The Gloucestershire Tackling Domestic Abuse strategy sets out the vision, our ambition to end domestic abuse in the county, and the priorities of the DA LPB:

Vision:

For Gloucestershire to be a county where domestic abuse is not tolerated and everybody can live free from abuse and harm, where healthy relationships are the norm and where victims/survivors and their children have access to the right support at the right time.
For domestic abuse to be everybody's business, where a collaborative approach creates lasting change across our systems and communities, where the voice of the victim is at the heart of our response.
