Working together

A image of three people working at a table togetherFor all the tools, it’s about getting the right people round the table to gain different perspectives. These people can be referred to as ‘stakeholders’ – individuals with an interest or concern in the work you’re undertaking. Working with stakeholders ensures your actions are more effective and avoids duplication.

Please take time to consider who else should be involved and at what stage.

Key tips

  • Give your stakeholders enough notice and time to plan their workloads and ensure there will be sufficient capacity and resources to participate.
  • Consider how best to enable those with lived experience or experts by experience to participate and share invaluable insights.
  • Use this process as an opportunity to thoroughly examine the issues raised and ask questions about your findings.
  • Work together to understand the issues, and discuss and agree on sensible and effective next steps.
