Preparing for the unexpected

If there was an emergency, who would look after the person you care for?

For these situations, it’s important to have a contingency plan to help prevent any potential gaps in care and to help ease any worry for both you and the person you care for.

If you need help creating a contingency plan, Gloucestershire Carers Hub can support you in finding the best solution for your caring situation. This could include identifying friends or family nearby who could provide temporary care in an emergency.

If you do not have a support system nearby that could offer support, Gloucestershire Carers Hub has a Carers Emergency Scheme which aims to provide support and assistance during times of crisis. This Scheme is free to join and it can give you peace of mind that the person you support will be cared for in emergency situations.

You can find out more about the Carers Emergency Scheme on the Gloucestershire Carers Hub website or by calling 0300 111 9000.
