Preparing for the unexpected

If there was an emergency, who would look after the person you support?

Planning ahead can help avoid interruptions to care and give both you and the person you support greater peace of mind.

Gloucestershire Carers Hub can help you create a plan that works for your situation. This might include identifying friends, family members or others who could step in if you're temporarily unable to provide care.

If no one is available to help, you may be able to join the Carers Emergency Scheme. The scheme is free and can provide support in a crisis, giving reassurance that the person you support will still receive the care they need in an emergency.

You can find out more about contingency planning on the Gloucestershire Carers Hub website or by calling 0300 111 9000.
