Portable Traffic Lights Application

Why do I need one? 

Portable Traffic Lights may be used where works are taking place on or near the carriageway and /or a risk assessment has deemed them necessary.  The Street Works team may put conditions on the use of portable lights on the network. 

There should be no assumption that by submitting the Portable Traffic Light application it will be approved. 

How will long will it take? 

Please give at least 10 days notice when submitting a Portable Traffic Lights application.

How much will it cost? 

There is no fee owed to Gloucestershire County Council.

When submitting the application please also attach the Traffic Management plans.

Traffic Signals Switch off Application

Why do I need one?  

If works are taking place within 100m of any Traffic Signals (incl pedestrian signals and pelican crossings) then it will be necessary for the Signals to be switched off. 

If you are unsure that you require a Traffic Signals switch off please contact the team on the email address below.

An engineer from our contractors, Telent, will carry out the switch off, and they will arrange to meet on site with you.

How will long will it take?

A minimum of 5 working days notice is required.

How much will it cost?

The fee is £421.80. The fee payable is 0% VAT.

A PO number must be supplied in order for the application to be processed, and the invoice for payment to be generated.
