To ensure the safety of the workforce and to allow utilities work to be completed, the following traffic management measures are planned:

  • Temporary footway closures and/or single‑lane closures on the A4019
  • To reduce overall disruption, works will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am wherever safe to do so. Some traffic management may need to remain in place during the day due to open excavations
  • Daytime traffic management arrangements are yet to be confirmed. We will make this information available on the project webpage as and when it is finalised

Roadworks related to the M5 Junction 10 Improvements Scheme August into September

The following temporary traffic management measures are planned for August and September 2026 as part of the M5 Junction 10 Improvements Scheme. These measures are required to facilitate utility diversions and investigation works ahead of the main junction works, which are scheduled to begin in early 2027:

  • A4019 west of the M5: Two-way temporary traffic lights during overnight works from 2 to 8 September 2026.
  • A4019: Two-way temporary traffic lights under convoy for Severn Trent Water and Gigaclear works during overnight periods from 17 to 20 September 2026.
  • A4019: Two-way temporary traffic lights for Gigaclear works during overnight periods from 6 to 12 October 2026.
  • A4019 (between Manor Rd and Old Glos Rd): Lane closures for STW crossing works from 24 August to 4 September 2026.

Please note:

Works are daytime unless listed otherwise.Traffic management dates may be subject to change due to operational requirements or adverse weather conditions. Road users are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys where possible.
