Helping Residents Without Off-street Parking

Gloucestershire County Council recognises the growing demand for electric vehicle charging, particularly for residents without access to off-street parking. We are currently exploring options and developing a policy position on cross-pavement charging solutions to ensure that any future approach balances the needs of EV users with pedestrian safety, accessibility, highway maintenance, electrical safety, and legal considerations. 

This work is ongoing, and while no formal policy has yet been adopted, we are aiming to establish a confirmed position during early 2027. Until then, requests will continue to be considered in line with the Council's current policies and procedures.
