Strategic infrastructure planning

Good planning is about being pro-active, to achieve the right balance between planning  for the future of our residents and conserving the best of our environment. This is called sustainable development. 

Sustainable development needs infrastructure to be built in the right place and at the right time.  GCC through its role as an infrastructure provider, has a significant part to play in achieving sustainable development, in partnership with our District partners. The Council works proactively with all groups involved in preparing plans and taking decisions on planning applications to integrate infrastructure into emerging proposals.
