Why we collect your data

Gloucestershire County Council aims to ensure our services are accessible to all. Under section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (Public Sector Equality Duty) Gloucestershire County Council (the council) has a duty to reduce any inequalities within society, eliminate discrimination, and foster good relations across all the protected groups when making decisions.

One of the ways that helps us measure how we are meeting our duty to the Equality Act is to undertake equality monitoring. We collect this information to be able to improve our service delivery, help identify current and future needs, possible inequalities including problems accessing or using services and information, as well as checking that a cross-section of people have been reached and given their views.
