How do I apply?
Applying for a GCC apprenticeship is designed to be straightforward and encouraging.
Step one – Register and apply online
Share some personal information and explain your interest in joining. Take your time and answer honestly—this helps us understand if we’re the right fit for you.
Step two – Shortlisting and feedback
Once applications close, we review all submissions. You’ll be told if you’ve progressed to the next stage; if not, don’t worry, as there will be future opportunities and helpful feedback provided.
Step three – Interview and assessment
If shortlisted, you'll receive details about your interview and a short assessment tailored to your chosen apprenticeship area. The interview is also your chance to ask questions and get to know GCC better.
Eligibility:
- You must be at least 16 years old by the end of summer before starting.
- You must reside in England and have the right to work in the UK.
- You must not be enrolled in full-time education when beginning your apprenticeship.
- You must hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. If you haven’t achieved these grades, we offer support with functional skills qualifications while you work.
Some apprenticeships may have additional requirements such as prior experience, portfolio submission, or specific interests. Be sure to check the full details for your chosen route on our website, and feel free to contact us with any queries. We’re here to support you at every stage.
