About the role:
 

This is a pivotal leadership role within Gloucestershire County Council’s Adult Social Care (ASC) Senior Leadership Team. Working closely with the Director of ASC—and deputising when required—you will lead the design and delivery of a transformational change programme aimed at reshaping how services are delivered to adults across the county. This high-impact position is central to driving innovation, enhancing service quality, and achieving meaningful, positive outcomes for the people of Gloucestershire.

This role is about leading large-scale service change, embedding a strengths-based and person-centred approach in everything we do, and ensuring we deliver sustainable, high-quality services that improve people’s lives.

Your leadership will help us prepare for legislative changes, introduce innovative ways of working (including the use of technology), and strengthen our focus on prevention, early intervention, independence, and improving the customer experience.

 

About you:

 

We’re seeking an exceptional leader with:

  • A registered Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with senior leadership experience.
  • Proven success in leading large-scale change and transformation in adult social care.
  • Strong understanding of legislation, policy, and best practices in the sector.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A strategic thinker with a track record of delivering improved outcomes and service excellence.
