Gloucestershire County Council is proposing to introduce a 20, 30 & 40 MPH Speed Limits and traffic calming features on various roads within Stoke Orchard & Bishops Cleeve.
This scheme is being proposed as part of the M5 J10 Improvements Major Project Scheme.
Stoke Road is the main road through the village of Stoke Orchard connecting it to Bishop’s Cleeve to the east and the A4019 to the south-west.
Traffic modelling for the M5 J10 Improvements Major Project Scheme identified a likely increase in traffic on Stoke Road between the A4019 at The Gloucester Old Spot public house to Bishop’s Cleeve. Therefore, as potential mitigation, this traffic calming scheme is proposed to reduce traffic speeds and volumes through Stoke Orchard.
