Holocaust Memorial Day 2022

The theme for this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day is ‘One Day,' taking place on Thursday, 27 January.

The message is to bring awareness to this ‘one day’ and that we put aside some time to come together to remember and learn about the Holocaust, Nazi Persecution and the genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

One day for Holocaust Memorial Day
One day in history
One day when life changed
One day at a time
One day in the future

To mark the day, County Council staff will be invited to virtually join Chief Executive, Pete Bungard for a minute's silence to remember all those affected by the Holocaust and other Genocides.

Cllr Mark Hawthorne, Leader of Gloucestershire County Council talks about the importance of Holocaust Memorial Day:

We will also be flying the flag half-mast over the council offices at Shire Hall as a mark of respect.
