In 2024 Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) had 4,528 Gender Pay Gap (GPG) reporting relevant staff. This is more than last year (4,356 in 2023), and higher than previous years (3,426 in 2017; 3,693 in 2018; 3,849 in 2019; 4,199 in 2020; 4,359 in 2021; 4,223 in 2022).  In GPG 2024 there were 172 more GPG relevant staff than in 2023. In 2024 there remains a higher proportion of women (69.6%) which is consistent with previous years. The workforce gender profile has maintained consistent throughout the reporting periods from 2017 to 2024 (ranging from 68.5% to 69.9% female).

Of the 4,528 GPG reporting relevant staff, 4,177 were permanent or fixed term (i.e. staff cohort usually counted within GCC corporate workforce reporting) and 329 were zero hour / casual / temporary staff.
