Use of Council Premises
Where a Contractor/Supplier is based in the Council's premises, they must comply with the Council's ID Cards and Building Security Policy. Details on which contractor employees hold council ID Cards should be maintained and made available to the council on request. Notify the council immediately of any individual holding an ID Card that has left the organisation.
Use of Non-Council Premises:
Where a contractor/supplier uses their own premises, they must ensure that the areas where council data is stored are protected against any unauthorised entry, theft or damage.
It is also important to control and limit access to only those who need it.
Collaboration Sites:
Where a contractor/supplier is granted access to sites hosted by the council, which allow the sharing of information of mutual interest, the contractor must ensure that they maintain a register of employees who have access to the site(s) and that their access is necessary.
