Achiever Awards- Councillors Award for Officer(s) going Above and Beyond
Published
Dear Councillor,
Each year, we proudly host the Achiever Awards to celebrate colleagues — both individuals and teams — who consistently go above and beyond in their roles.
We have introduced a new Award for 2026, this award category has been introduced to ensure that exceptional contributions made by officers during 2025–2026 receive the recognition they deserve. While the wider Achiever Awards celebrate excellence across GCC, this specific award provides councillors with the opportunity to highlight individuals whose dedication, professionalism, and impact may otherwise remain unseen. The award aims to shine a light on officers who consistently demonstrate commitment beyond their core role—strengthening our organisational culture and delivering meaningful benefits to colleagues, residents, and communities.
Key points:
- The Councillors Award is exclusively for councillors to nominate officers who have gone above and beyond in their duties.
- Criteria include: a strong can‑do attitude, inspirational behaviour, unique qualities, empathy, citizenship, dedication, positive impact, resilience, and exemplary customer service.
-
Nominations should be thorough and evidence‑based, with supporting information encouraged.
