June’s Families in Partnership newsletter for families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
In June’s issue we have an article on the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) for Summer 2026 detailing specific support from the SEND Community Connector.
The SEND Sufficiency team updates on new the new special school, GAIL, in Gloucester as well as access to the public consultation on the Gloucestershire SEND Sufficiency Strategy 2026-2031 – open until 23 June.
For young people with SEND, this edition has two relevant articles; one on Building Connections (the Gloucestershire-wide partnership supporting disabled young people aged 16–25 to feel less isolated and more connected to their communities); and one on the Youth Hubs offer more opportunities for young people to stay active all year round.
The newsletter also has details of forthcoming awareness events including Carers Week (8-14 June) and the Big Health Day (11 June) and how the SEND space in Gloucestershire is supporting those events.
The news article from across the partnership links to the latest news from Health, Education and Social Care, which includes a helpful webinar on continence and the latest Elective Home Education Newsletter.
