NHS in Gloucestershire is supporting Know Your Numbers

Do you know how your blood pressure is? Know Your Numbers, a campaign from Blood Pressure UK, will run from 4-10 September.

According to figures from Blood Pressure UK, six million people in the UK have high blood pressure and don’t know it. Because it usually doesn’t have any symptoms, often the first sign could be a heart attack or stroke.

In Gloucestershire, we’re supporting the Know Your Numbers campaign, with the NHS Information Bus out and about across the county. Clinicians will be offering blood pressure checks and having conversations with people about self-management, healthy lifestyles and referring people onwards for further support where needed. At some events, the Healthy Lifestyles Gloucestershire team will also be available to talk to people about support to quit smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, increase physical activity levels and maintain a healthy weight.

On Monday 4 September the NHS bus will be in Gloucester on the Cross from 10am-3pm – why not pop over and get your blood pressure checked! If you can’t make this date, there are plenty more options around the county here: https://www.ghc.nhs.uk/news/community_health_checks/

Make the time, ease your pressure, and drop-in to find out what your numbers are.
