Early Help - Advice Guidance and Support (AGS)

Level two

  • Early Help Triage provide oversight of requests for early help interventions from professionals, MASH and parents/carers. Information gathering and initial decision making in regards to an Early Help offer.
  • Early Help Co-ordinators (EHCO's) deliver a Practitioner Advice Line providing advice, guidance and support to practitioners working with children and families around all aspects of using the Graduated Pathway. This line operates Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. The contact telephone number is: 01452 426644.

Level three

  • Early Help Co-ordinators (EHCO’s) provide 1:1 Support to Community Practitioners to identify and meet family’s needs utilising the Graduated Pathway to deliver robust Early Help plans and comprehensive knowledge of available services and community resources.
  • EHCO’s pro-actively participate and share knowledge and expertise as part of the Multi-agency Team Around the Locality Cluster (TALC) Operational Group Meetings which inform Graduated Pathway plans and assessments.
  • Community Social Workers (CSW’s) provide advice and training (for example, MARF and screening tools to inform Levels of intervention) to community partners (for example, Dedicated Safeguarding Leads) to respond to emerging risk, manage and deescalate risk and better respond to complex and challenging cases.
  • CSW’s support the Team Around the Locality Cluster (TALC) Operational Groups to identify potential risk and harm factors by applying Gloucestershire’s Risk Assessment Principles to the multi-agency conversations.
