Department for Education (DFE): New Free SEND and Inclusion Training and Resources for Mainstream Schools and Post 16
The Department for Education (DfE) has published a new collection of free SEND and inclusion training materials for teachers and teaching assistants in mainstream schools and Post 16.
Developed as part of the government's SEND reform programme, these flexible resources can be delivered as individual one-hour sessions or combined into a wider training programme.
Although schools are encouraged to use the materials, participation is not mandatory.
The package includes:
- editable slides for presentation and accompanying facilitator guidance
- evidence summaries and activities to support discussion and reflection
- templates to help plan and measure effectiveness of professional development
- case studies and practical strategies to support learning

Additionally, the resources available through both links above can also be found on the Educational Practitioners page of the Knowledge Hub here, where they have been organised into the relevant categories. The pages also include a wider range of related resources, training opportunities, and guidance from Gloucestershire County Council and trusted external providers.
