As well as resurfacing we carry out surface dressing, patching and other work to maintain the roads. The work involves lots of heavy machinery so temporary road closures are needed for your own safety and the safety of our workers. It's necessary for us to complete the work without interruption so we work rapidly through the day or night to lay hot asphalt across the road.

Our resurfacing plans for the year ahead are shared at the beginning of each financial year in April. Any roads scheduled for resurfacing are highlighted on our resurfacing map (link below). However, please note, the road closure areas may vary and the resurfacing schedule can be subject to change.
The interactive map shows the proposed sections for resurfacing, not including the road closure areas. These proposed schemes may change following the design phase. Roads are usually closed at points that allow traffic to turn around if necessary or at points that will allow traffic to take an alternative route. Larger closure areas are often needed to allow the work vehicles enough space to approach and manoeuvre safely.
