UK ENIC is the UK National Information Centre for the recognition and evaluation of international qualifications and skills. This service is for you if you need to evidence the level of your overseas qualification for employment, study, professional registration or another reason.

You can apply online by uploading your certificate and an English translation Home Page (Home Page (enic.org.uk)). If you require financial assistance, please speak to your local Jobcentre.

Some professions in the UK, such as teachers and lawyers, are regulated by law and require specific professional qualifications or experience to be able to access and practice.

For these roles, independent regulators decide what qualifications individuals need to have to practice the profession and assess whether applicants are suitably qualified.

Ecctis Qualification Benchmarking uses an independent and objective evaluation process, improving international understanding of the academic level of a qualification, and boosting confidence in it.

  • It supports the international recognition and portability of qualifications
  • It improves the international reputation of qualifications in an increasingly competitive landscape
  • It encourages international co-operation between education providers – for example, through articulation arrangements
  • It informs qualification development with expert recommendations on programme design, assessment, and underpinning quality assurance.

Local Support for Private Rental

The HFU Private Rental Support Scheme aims to assist Ukrainian families in Gloucestershire to secure longer-term independent accommodation. You may be eligible to apply for a gift payment of a deposit and first month’s rent in advance, which would be paid directly to your landlord upon the signing of your tenancy agreement. You will have to show that you have sufficient income and/or savings to meet the terms of the tenancy agreement before the support is agreed.

Once you have identified a property you would like to rent, and the landlord has agreed in principle to offer it to you, you should contact the HFU Team by email: hfuteam@gloucestershire.gov.uk

After checking you meet the criteria, you will then be referred to your local district council to complete an affordability assessment.

Social Housing

You will only be considered for Social Housing if you have a local connection to the district

A local connection means that you have links to the council area because you:

Live or have lived in the area for at least

  • 6 out of the last 12 months
  • 3 out of the last 5 years

Work full or part time in the area (casual work for a short time does not count).

If any of these close relatives have lived in a council area for at least 5 years:

  • parents
  • adult children
  • brothers and sisters

If you lived in asylum support housing in the area before getting refugee status

You could have a local connection for a special reason such as:

  • you need to live in the area for specialist health care
  • you have very important social connections in the area
