Our connection with the Fielding & Platt Company dates back to the 1980s, when former F&P employees Arthur Rigby & Stan Wood worked here. Other contacts were made through them.
The HLf funded project ran for 18 months during 2012-13, with a series of partners.
Other than the website, other outcomes included a series of well attended events in a variety of City venues; the collection of documents rescued when the local works closed in 2003 being fully listed, with a separate large collection of items subsequently donated by former employees & their families; the creation of the still active F&P Heritage group, which continues to organise ex-staff reunions; a large collection of OH recordings; and more digital stories.
