Apprentice Archives Assistant
We are looking for an Apprentice Archives Assistant to join the team at Gloucestershire Archives.
- This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work as part of a small, supportive team dedicated to preserving Gloucestershire’s heritage and making collections and services accessible to everyone.
- Alongside gaining valuable hands-on experience, you will study towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Libraries, Information and Archive Studies, developing the skills and knowledge needed for a career in the heritage, archives and information sectors.
- The apprenticeship is a fixed-term, two-year position funded through Sounds of the South West, a National Lottery Heritage Fund project. Training will be provided by LMP, and you will join a cohort of three apprentices across the South West, benefiting from shared learning, networking opportunities and professional development.
- To be successful, you will have experience of delivering excellent customer service, carrying out administrative tasks accurately and efficiently. You will have strong communication skills; be able to listen carefully and share information clearly; be well organised, capable of multi-tasking and working to deadlines. You will be a quick learner who can absorb, retain and apply new information and work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine interest in archives and the wider heritage sector is essential.
