Transition Chat

What is Transition Chat?

Transition Chat is led by Young Gloucestershire and works closely with Info Buzz. The purpose of the service is to work with young people in Year 11, who are at risk of being Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET) following their secondary school education.

The service will support young people who may have been faced with a variety of barriers or challenges stopping them from moving onto their next educational steps or they may not know what they would like to do next.

How does it work?

Once a referral has been reviewed and agreed to progress, Young Gloucestershire will assign a Youth Worker to the young person who will meet with them and schedule regular individual sessions. The sessions will offer a person-centred approach to meeting the young person’s needs and also their aspirations.

How long does the support last?

The allocated Youth Worker will support the young person up until the point where they transition into post-16 provision, unless it is mutually agreed at an earlier stage that this service is no longer required.
